TO RUSSIAN OLIGARCHS WITH LOVE, BEVERLY!

Billionaire Russian Oligarch Buys $35 Million Beverly Hills Megamansion

Trousdale Estates is arguably the most desirable enclave in Beverly Hills, famous for its collection of trendy midcentury modern homes with panoramic L.A. skyline views. One of the largest and most private residences up there recently made waves when it sold for $35 million, a discount from the hefty $46 million asking price but still among the biggest transactions ever recorded in the area.
Another Russian oligarch buying mega mansion real estate in US's Beverley Hills area for $35,000,000! Ho hum you might say! Not quite. It occurs to me that as a US citizen, I would be very tired to the point of angry hearing about purchases like this!!! Oligarch meaning according to Russian President Vladimir Putin: "Oligarchs are those who use their proximity to the authorities to receive super profits." And also to wield enormous power & influence. In other words: despots and mini-dictators. And with all the brouhaha in the US as of late about Russian manipulation of US politics, I would have expected an outcry against these kinds of sales and the people behind them. But...I guess not! Because money is supreme in American culture - no matter where it comes from or whose got it.

POST NOTE:

"Why are oligarchs investing in the West? And that's why you hear a lot about Russian oligarchs buying things in the West. The Brooklyn Nets in the US. Soccer teams, real estate and other expensive things. Oligarchs like to buy outside of Russia. Some of this is a conscious decision by these oligarchs to move some of their assets offshore to places where the assets are protected by the rule of law, said Graham: "That's why you buy in Miami and London and Western Europe."
